26 Jul Mindset, Mental Wellness and Mental wellbeing is key to your health journey.
Wellness is a whole body healing practice, but where do you even start?
Google?
Books?
Youtube?
Blogs?
Pinterest?????
There is lots and lots of info out there in bite size pieces (just like this blog post) that only addresses one area of health and wellness. The difference with THIS post is that it is designed to give you a head start on your journey.
Addressing your mental health / mindset / mindfulness is the first place I recommend to start for a few reasons outlined in this video.
Your thoughts have the power to change your body. Thoughts and emotions literally can create a physical response in the body. Butterflies in the stomach are a classic example of how a thought or emotion (nervousness) can create tension in the digestive system (stomach) and create pain or discomfort. Your brain and your gut are directly linked through the vagas nerve and literally talk to each other through neurotransmitters (some of which are actually made in the gut). So yes… your mindset, your mental wellbeing and your health are directly linked to our gut health and overall health. Just think about that.
Your mindset, mental wellness and mindfulness are definitely a place to start and master before you dive into the realm of health and wellness. It will set you up for a successful health journey.
So if you think you are ready to tackle your health and wellness journey once and for all lets do this.
Make time each day for you… in an unselfish way. It can be anything from a morning routine, a meditation practice, a breath practice, a meditative shower, a dancing ritual, a drawing or journal practice. Get creative… it could be a hobby. It could be literally anything that you love doing that lets your body rest, relax and experience calm.
