01 Aug Fermented Dill Pickles

Do ya love a good pickle?? I'm not talking vinegar pickles, I'm talking amazingly tangy, crisp and probiotic pickles you can make at home. People ask me all the time to share with them fermenting recipes and while I prefer to coach people through the process because there are so many things you can do to stuff it up, I have shared one with you today. Dill pickles are one of the simplest ferments to have a go trying. When fermented right, dill pickles are teaming with probiotics and can be a great pre-dinner or lunch snack to get the digestive juices flowing in preparation for digestion and to repopulate the beneficial bacteria. Hopefully this will help give you confidence to give it a try. Please feel free to comment over at you tube or below if you have any other questions. Its pretty simple though so I hope you have a go. Give it a go and give me a tag (#happyguts) so I can join in your journey.   [embed_popupally_pro popup_id="10"]...

What does the whole gut health thing actually mean? I know it can be confusing because it seems like there is a new superfood or a new diet each week that is the most amazing health hack… then you find out a week or month later that it was all just a load of BS and there was just a bit of hype around it, take kale for example… about a year ago if you mentioned you eat a healthy diet or are interested in your health it was ALLLLLL about the kale. (To be brutally honest, I’m not a big fan of kale unless its cooked and wilted… can’t stand it raw or in salads YUCK!! But I have managed to find a way to consume it and it’s not as often as you might think)   I am not sure if you have noticed but there is a lot of talk and hype around gut health lately and I really hope it doesn’t start to cheapen the importance of gut health or bring out the haters. So I want to share a little about why it’s so important. The thing with gut health that no one really talks about is the fact that...

Finding your groove is so important to welcoming wellness as it is something that needs to be worked at daily. For most people (you included) the beginning of the day before work is the only part you can be in control of. You know when you need to leave for work so you know how much time it takes to woof down breakfast and get out the door quick smart. Some of the most successful people in the world, be it athletes, business tycoons, presidents cultivate success through a sound and ritualistic morning routine. Health guru’s also opt for a routine that paves the way for a healthy day.
